The White House is nullifying the regulation on independent workers that the Trump administration wanted to put in place and with this move the spotlight is now shifting back to the uncertainties surrounding the status of gig economy workers. This policy reversal should also make it easier for these workers to unionize, and then to organize collective wage bargaining.
