United States: California adds another level of social protection for contract workers
In California the final employer of contract workers will now be liable to those workers to respect working time, pay their wages, and also compensation insurance cover, in addition to their existing responsibility to pay compensation for accidents at work. This new piece of legislation adds to an existing series of measures supporting workers (including the minimum wage, sick pay…).
