The United Steelworkers (USW) completed pay negotiations with Goodyear, the biggest tire maker in the US. The parties signed a 4-year contract that covers more than 8,000 workers in 6 plants – Buffalo (New York), Topeka (Kansas), Fayetteville (North Carolina), Danville (Virginia), Gadsden (Alabama) and Akron (Ohio).
Tom Conway, international USW VP, rejoiced that the existing sites are maintained for at least 4 years. There won’t be any closures and the group promised investments into the site
