The Private Equity Stakeholder Project association is supported by several trade unions and it seeks to identify, engage, and connect with shareholders of investment funds, and pension funds over the impact of their decisions on employees and their families.

In March 2018 toy store Toys ‘R’ Us abruptly announced it was bankrupt and promptly left some 33,000 staff with absolutely nothing, no compensation, no financial support, nothing at all. Some committed employees gathered together and went on a roadshow across 12 US States attending pension fund general assembly meetings to share their story and relate how actions by the investment funds, the Toys ‘R’ Us owners, had impacted them.
