On 06 March, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order ordering a review of law firm Perkins Coie’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices. ‘My Administration is committed to ending discrimination under “diversity, equity, and inclusion” policies’, he said, arguing that Perkins Coie ‘racially discriminates against its own attorneys and staff, and against candidates.’ This constitutes “disrespect for the bedrock principle of equality”, according to the text.
