Verallia: agreement to put an EWC in place

On 23 September 2016, Verallia, a world leader in glass packaging and former Saint Gobain subsidiary (sold in 2015), concluded an agreement (subject to French law) that institutes a European Works Council. The agreement recognizes a central role for the select committee with regard to European social dialogue and in particular with regard to the information/consultation procedure.

Five members from four countries will sit on the select committee, which will ordinarily meet three times a year and which will also meet under extraordinary circumstances. These meetings will be preceded by preparatory meetings and potentially followed by review meetings.
