According to a study by SumUp, 68% of French people used contactless payment in 2022, compared to 90% of British, 85% of Swiss, 78% of Italians and 67% of Germans surveyed. According to mind Fintech, growth is lower in France (up by 4%) and Switzerland (up by 5%) than in Germany (up by 35%) and Italy (up by 9%). For this study, the company analysed millions of transactions made via SumUp payment tools in France, the U.K., Switzerland, Germany and Italy between 2021 and 2022.
