In Turkey, business is complicated for those who disagree with the President Erdogan. The owning family of the Modern East Mall, opened in the Asian part of Istanbul in May 2016 (60,000 sq.m GLA and 140 stores including Starbucks, Deichmann, Migros, H&M, LC Waikiki and Burger King) was expelled in late 2016, given suspicions of sympathy to the persecuted opponent Fethullah Gülen. Currently in exile in the U.S.A. Mr Gülen is accused by Erdogan to have fomented the failed putsch of July 2016....
