In late June 2017, Auchan Retail confirmed the purchase of the 9 supermarkets from Karavan.Without financial details, the deal is subject to local authority agreement. Auchan runs 11 hypermarkets in 5 Ukrainian cities plus selling online in Kiev. The firm is taking opportunities to buy attractive retailers at affordable prices. In 2016, Ukraine’s retail sales grew by 17.9% in local currency (+1.3% in €).
