After laying off 13% of the workforce in 2022, Back Market (sales of €320 million in 2023 up by 45%, for a GMV of €2.16 billion) announced on September 19 that it would reach profitability in Europe in 2024. With a new European regulation expected in June 2025 to extend the lifespan of smartphones, the €5 billion marketplace for refurbished products, which operates in 18 countries, outlined its distribution strategy.
