Ten years after the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory, the Bangladesh government announced on November 7th, 2023 an increase of 56% of the minimum wage in the textile sector. From US$75 per month – a stable level since 2019 – it will rise to US$114 (by 56%) from December 1st. However, workers demanded US$209.
