According to an Aldi’s spokeswoman in Australia, the German discount retailer will make inroads in China in the 1st half 2017, starting with a website selling ambient products and beverages. “Aldi has been active in the Chinese market for several years undertaking detailed feasibility studies regarding potential market-entry options”, she said. Aldi may further expand in Asia, with the Australian warehouses serving as a springboard for Asian expansion.
