Ceconomy from Germany (Saturn and MediaMarkt, sales of € 22,2 billion in 2017 including 10.5% online) and its French rival Fnac-Darty have signed a strategic alliance, focusing on purchasing, supplier relations and innovation. Both retailers already have capital links. In 2017, Ceconomy (owner of Saturn and Mediamarkt) bought 24.3% of Fnac-Darty’s capital from Artemis, François Pinault’s holding company for €452 million.
