After filing for bankruptcy on September 9, 2024, the U.S. destocking retailer of furnitures Big Lots (2023 sales of US$4.72 billion with 1,392 stores) found a partial buyer. On January 3, an agreement was reached (amount undisclosed) with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, providing for the transfer of 200 to 400 stores and 2 distribution centres to Variety Wholesalers. These stores will retain the Big Lots brand. Variety Wholesalers, which operates 422 stores in the South East of the U.S.A....
