Pier 1 Imports, Texas-based home decor and furniture retailer (net sales of US$1.6 billion in the fiscal year to March 2019, a fall of 14% year-on-year) announced a potential closure program for almost half of its fleet (450 of its 940 stores in the U.S.A. and Canada) as well as distribution centres.
