In early March 2017, the online fashion retailer Zalando announced the purchase of Kickz footwear retailer for an undisclosed investment.

Kickz runs an e-commerce website plus 15 German stores located in prime locations like Berlin (Torstrasse), Stuttgart (Königstrasse), Munich, Cologne, Hamburg and Wiesbaden. In 2016, Zalando’s sales grew by 23% to €3.6 billion, and the Berlin-based group expects the same pace in 2017. Its largest markets are Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
