In Dubai, a new Ikea store located near the Energy Metro Station over 35,000 sq.m G.L.A. opened in late 2019, in partnership with Al Futtaim. This is in the Festival Plaza shopping centre (Jebel Ali neighbourhood) and includes a warehouse, a market hall, a children’s area, a cafe, a restaurant and a bakery with a grocery store. The new unit pilots a separate café entrance for customers who previously had to go through the store first. Ikea offered the first 1,000 customers a free gift card with €245 to spend in store.
