The Swedish kit furniture giant is opening its first city centre format dedicated to urban spaces in Tokyo, Japan, where it operates a total of 11 points of sale. Located near a Uniqlo store, Ikea Harajuku occupies 2,500 sq.m on two floors and houses a Swedish Cafe. For the company, one of the main focuses of the store will be sustainability and circular economy with a buy-back service for old furnitures and raw materials from sustainable sources.
