The Swedish retailer is due to open its first store in Hi Tec City, Hyderabad (Telangana state) on July 10, 2018. The investment for this 37,175-sq.m GLA store exceeded €100 million, including land, construction and capital goods. As part of its management values, Ikea will hire 50% of women amongst its 800 employees. This is a social revolution for India. The Mumbai store, as Ikea’s 2nd unit, is expected in 2019, followed by Bengaluru and Delhi NCR.
