Walmart (sales of US$514.4 billion in the financial year to January 2019) has now become India’s leading retailer. It manages 25 wholesale stores (Best Price Modern Wholesale brand) dedicated to professional customers, such as hotels, restaurants and convenience stores and it acquired the pure-player Flipkart in 2018 (in a deal of US$16 billion).
