On March 12, 2019, the African market place Jumia filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange. The timing and size of the I.P.O. has not been specified, but it should enable the online retailer to raise approximately US$1.1 billion.
