According to HC Chan, C.E.O. of the Malaysian property company Sunway Malls, “despite the pandemic, we signed up 200 new retailers this year. Among these new entrants, 35% are restaurant chains. I think that after Covid-19, the space dedicated to restaurants and leisure activities will increase to 50% within the malls”. A number of retailers recently entered Malaysia this year, including Pomelo (fashion) and the Singaporean brands TRT (fashion), and Noko (beauty).
