The U.S. fashion brand Universal Standard launched in 2015 (sales of US$20.4 billion in 2016) has closed a US$7 million round of Series A funding. The plus-size retailer plans to use this new capital to extend its size range from the current sizes 10 to 28 to sizes 6 to 32, add new staff and expand its showroom format in the U.S. In its two showrooms in N.Y. and L.A., open by appointment only, shoppers can shop the full collection and consult one-on-one with in-house stylists.
