On 13th December, the European Commission published a “draft adequacy decision” on existing U.S.A./ E.U. data protection regulations, or “Data Privacy Framework”. The report aims to co-ordinate and align the same level of data protection from the E.U. to the U.S. to match existing European rules. It includes a series of obligations which include deletion of certain personal data, remedies against faults for E.U. citizens and limitations on access by intelligence agencies.
