After Brazilian newspaper Valor Economico said that Sonae could partner with buyout firms, the Portuguese retailer stated that it was “not involved in the matter”. Wal-Mart Brazil has been in talks with buyout funds Advent International, GP Investments Ltd and Acon Investments to sell a major stake in its Brazilian business.
