The Portuguese developer announced the opening, in late February 2019, of its first mall in Colombia. Called Jardín Plaza Cúcuta, it covers 65,000 sq.m GLA spanned across an open-air design (180 brands) and represents an investment of €52 million. A further expansion is planned for 2020. Sonae Sierra partnered via a joint venture with the Colombian developer Central Control and the investment vehicle PEI. Sonae Sierra runs 44 shopping centres for a market value of about €7 billion.
