The German sporting goods retailer Sport 2000 signed a licensing agreement with the Hungarian firm Smart 73. This wholesale company operates 7 standalone stores and supplies 300 multi-brand stores. The Sport 2000 cooperative runs 4,154 stores in 25 countries for an annual turnover of €3.6 billion. Meanwhile, The Athlete’s Foot (Intersport International) entered Belgium via a franchising deal with the Dutch firm Euretco. The 1st Belgian store opened in October 2017 in Bruges, on Zuid
