On March 17, British retailer Tesco signed an agreement with the USDAW union increasing the wages of stores and distribution centre staff by 5.2%, a rise above inflation (3% in January). “This agreement also guarantees a significant gap between Tesco’s pay rates and the national living wage in April,” emphasises Daniel Adams, USDAW’s National Officer.
