Thai giant Central Group aims to raise up to US$1.5 billion

By the end of January, Central Group aims to list its retail entity on the Thai Stock Exchange, with the I.P.O. of Central Retail Corp. raising as much as US$1.5 billion. In November the brokers started testing investors’ appetite for 2 weeks via a “pre-marketing” stage, before Central Group decides to sell shares. If the I.P.O. is successful, it would be the largest offering in Thailand in more than 5 years.
