The Galeries Lafayette prepare the opening of a 9,000 sq.m GLA store on the Champs-Elysees (on the site of a former bank) by the end of 2018, i.e. 1/10th of the Haussmann flagship. Its design was entrusted to the Danish architect, Bjarke Ingels who has been inspired by department stores like Barneys, Selfridges and Joyce but also by luxury hotels to provide a high level of service. Expected daily traffic is 300,000 people on weekdays and 500,000 on weekends.
