In Turkey, the fast-growing discount grocery retailer A101 is to purchase rival Çağrı, taking 45 stores in the Istanbul region. The firm operates hypermarkets, convenient stores (under the Çağrı Semt brand) and a discount format called Çağrı Market. The deal awaits approval from competition authorities.
