To continually reduce the environmental impact of operations, Ikea is streamlining product returns to cut waste and enhance margins. U.S.A. figures for Ikea report that approximately 10% of products are returned and 15% of these are ultimately wasted. The furniture giant is relying on an A.I. (artificial intelligence) solution developed by Optoro Inc. This is a logistics software company benefitting from an undisclosed investment from Ikea invested during a fundraiser in December 2019.
