In May 2018 Wal-Mart bought Flipkart, a business which supplied up to 70% of online fashion sales in India. At the same time the American giant took over two extra operations as part of Flipkart, since Myntra was acquired by Flipkart in 2014 and then Myntra purchased Jabong in 2016. Wal-Mart has confirmed that both of these will be merged into Flipkart after Binny Bansal resigned as C.E.O. Jabong expects to lose 200 staff from 700 employees.
