The banking sector, currently lagging behind other sectors in terms of transnational collective bargaining, looks to be catching up. The Dutch bank is the most recent and The Netherlands first bank to sign an international framework agreement with the global services federation UNI Global Union.
ABN AMRO signed the agreement on 01 September 2015 with the global union federation UNI Global and the Dutch union FNV. In it the banking group commits to upholding ILO standards (no forced labor, no discrimination, no child labor, etc.). In terms of one of the key subjects in these types of agreements, i.e. freedom of association, the agreement intends for management to be favorably disposed. Unions are to be able to present the benefits and advantages of union membership to the employees...
