The new agreement governing the European Works Council (EWC) within the Air France KLM Group (AFKL), signed on 12 June, increases its involvement in strategic matters. This change takes into account the management’s decision to give the EWC a more central role in Air France and KLM’s most strategic operations at company level. These are operations which had previously been managed within each respective company. With this new role, the EWC will enjoy new privileges.
The 2010 agreement already contained a number of the changes introduced by the directive on EWCs (see article no 100363).
Composition. The number of representatives from France and the Netherlands increases by one member, meaning 11 and 7 representatives respectively.
