With the gender pay gap in Austria being the second largest in the European Union (18.3%), the Austrian government has promised to introduce a bill next spring to transpose the European directive on wage transparency. Twenty-five organisations, including the seven major trade unions, have launched an ‘alliance’ to bring the issue to the forefront. Dorottya Kickinger, Federal Secretary for Women's Issues at the Austrian Trade Union Confederation (ÖGB), answered questions from mind HR on the subject.
