The first agreement of the “Spring Campaign” for the renewal of collective agreements in the industry was reached on April 8 in the Austrian textile industry (12,255 employees). Wage will increase by 2.8% on April 1, 2013 and minimum wage by 3%. This agreement was reached while a dispute is taking place at the Austrian subsidiary of Triumph International, the Swiss underwear company and a major player in the sector, which is less and less involved in the country. The PRO.GE (industry) and DPA-djp (private sector) unions and textile reached, with difficulty, an agreement renewing the collective pay deal for the sector’s 12,255 employees. The new sectoral agreement provides for a 2.8% wage increase on April 1, 2013.
