On 29 October, following a week of industrial action, the social partners including management and the unions: 4 FGTB, 3 CSC, and 2 CGSLB came to a Joint Committee agreement with 15 votes ‘for’ and 3 ‘against’ over Bpost’s new Mail Service Operations (MSO) plan. Bpost said the “agreement was essential for the future of the company, in the extremely competitive e-commerce and parcels market.” The agreement will give the company scope to work in an agile way so that Bpost can meet its customers’ expectations as well as increase growth.
Bpost is having to cope with declining mail volumes and the new ‘agile’ organization should allow it to attract business, manage daily fluctuations, and create more jobs (Bpost press release 2015):
