Belgium : reinforcement of the social contributions’ reduction for the taking on of an employee dismissed in the framework of a restructuring

The Council of ministers approved, on June 22nd, a bill of royal order aiming at promulgating the taking on of workers dismissed in the framework of restructurings. The aim is to reinforce the cut in employers' social contributions for the new employer of a employee dismissed further to a restructuring. (Ref 06657)

According to this order, which principles have been decided during the Council of ministers of March 31st 2006 (see our dispach n°06328), the cut in contributions of 4000 euros for three semesters, currently in force, will be changed to 1000 during five semesters, from October 1st 2006. For the workers who are at least 45, the cut in contributions is once more reinforced with an additional period of 16 trimesters to 400 euros. It then becomes equivalent to the one planned for the long term job
