Belgium: restructuring at Volkswagen Forest will have less impact than envisaged for the outside contractors

The first estimates mentioned 10 000 dismissals within the outside contractors of Volkswagen's Forest plant following the announcement of the site's restructuring decided by the German car manufacturer. The Region of Brussels conducted an inventory which concluded to 2300 job losses maximum. (Ref. 061232)

The equipment manufacturer Jonhson Controls announced, on Tuesday, December 5th, its intention to lay off 230 workers out of the 580 that the firm employs.
