In order to complete the implementation of Directive 2002/14/EC on workers' information and consultation and to avoid a action for failure to fully implement this text, social partners concluded, on November 23, an agreement on the terms and conditions of information and consultation of workers in businesses with under 100 employees. Until now, Belgian law comprised a measure to inform and consult workers for businesses with more than 100 employees. On the other hand, there were few measures concerning information and consultation of workers in SMEs. Yet, the Directive 2002/14/EC requires that terms and conditions for informing and consulting employees are set up in units employing at least 20 employees and undertakings with at least 50.
