Belgium: the cross-industry agreement 2007-2008 is adopted

The Federation of Belgian companies (FEB) approved, on January 25th 2007, after the three Belgian trade-union organizations (see story n° 061296), the interprofessional draft agreement. This adoption marks the launching of the negotiations at the sectoral level and in companies. The agreement includes salary measures and comittments to negotiate on several topics (discrimination, consumption of alcohol and narcotics...). (Ref. 070072)

The FEB considers positive the new wage policy in companies, based on wage moderation and an engagement to revive a mechanism of profit-sharing.
