Sold under the name of flexible and feasible employment, social partners failed to come to an agreement over the labor reforms project. On 17 October, during his 2017 budget address Prime Minister Charles Michel laid out the main thrusts of the labor reforms, which essentially address working time and wages.
Launched at the start of 2016, social consultation over labor reforms (c.f. article No. 9515) ended in failure. As a result the Prime Minister presented the broad outlines of the draft legislation that he will soon be submitting to parliament (for more on the draft legislation c.f. article No. 9799).
