Since April 2007, Belgium established an electronic declaration system for social security, entitled Limosa; it makes the control of foreign workforce easier (see our article 070152). Thus, foreign employers have to declare a worker posted in Belgium, whether it be for themselves or on behalf of a third party. This system was relaxed in some cases last July. (Ref. 070694)
The original text, the March 20, 2007 royal decree, made provision for exceptions to the declaration principle regarding the nature of the job performed (international haulage, international sport competitions, and so on) and the posting’s duration.
