Belgium: towards a charter of good behaviour to reduce strikes in Walloon public transport

After consultation of management and trade unions of the public transportation network (TEC), the experts of the Laboratory of studies on new technologies, innovation and change (Lentic) will introduce proposals, on December 7th, in joint consultative committee, to improve social dialogue within the network. Confronted to frequent strikes, the public transport network mandated Lentic to establish a diagnosis and offer pathways for improvement of social dialogue within the group of passenger transport, which employs 4795 people. According to the Walloon daily La Libre Belgique (5-12), the laboratory of the University of Liege proposed the elaboration of a charter of ” good behaviour “, in which the social partners ” have to promise ” to respect the roles of every party “, to look ” first for a peace
