Bulgaria: an opinion poll balances the fears of a flow of Bulgarian immigrants towards the labour market of other European States

Between 2001 and 2006, twice fewer Bulgarians said that they had intention to go work abroad, according to an opinion poll of International Gallup Poll abroad. The experts estimate at 36 000, the number of Bulgarian nationals ready to move towards the EU to work or study there. (Ref. 06978)

This opinion poll on the intentions of Bulgarians aged 15 to 60 as regards emigration towards the countries of the EU was conducted last August by Gallup International at the request of the ministry of employment and social assistance. It reveals that Spain seems to be the favorite country of destination, followed by Germany, Italy, Greece and France.
