In November 2016 when Sony sold its Guangzhou factory to a Chinese company, thousands of workers worried for their future and went on strike in a bid to demand compensation and negotiations. Similarly Coca-Cola employees across several of the company’s sites mobilized in a bid to obtain information and compensation prior to the transfer of a section of the company’s bottling operations to a Chinese agri-food giant.
