Credit Agricole: interview with Marie-Christine Dumonal, group HR Director and Bernard Philippe, DDG in charge of HR at the FNCA

The management of the group Credit Agricole and the special negotiating body signed, on January 30, 2008, an agreement for the establishment of a European works council (see our article No. 080090) which will meet for the first time in June. Marie-Christine Dumonal, Human Resources Manager at Credit Agricole SA (CASA) and Bernard Philippe, in charge of human resources at the National Federation of Agricultural Credit (FNCA), give us the conditions of the negotiation and their expectations regarding this body.   • What were the prerequisites for the negotiation on the establishment of a EWC ?

Marie-Christine Dumonal. First, we had to set up the special negotiating body (SNB); to that end, we had to find a representative in every country included in the future perimeter of the agreement, able to set up the appointment of negotiators. It seems rather simple like this, but at that time several business lines could co-exist in one country without a manager with cross-competency in terms of human resources.
