On 7 March, Czech MPs unanimously approved an amendment to the Labour Code aimed at bringing greater flexibility to labour relations. Among the main measures are a guarantee that an employee will be able to return to their job after parental leave, an extension of the probationary period and an accelerated procedure for terminating employment contracts. The text must now be examined by the Senate for entry into force on 1 April 2025.
The draft law on flexible labour relations was adopted on 7 March by the Czech Chamber of Deputies. According to the government, this reform should make companies more competitive, while protecting employees’ rights.
