Czech Republic: trade unions want the new Labor Code to come into effect now

The biggest Czech trade union organization, the Czech-Moravian Trade Unions Confederation (CMKOS), announced a demonstration against the planned postponement of the new Labor Code. The demonstration should take place on November 25 in Prague, in front of the government building. (Ref. 061097)

One year ago, trade unions gathered in Prague to show their support for the new labor code that was later on approved by the previous center-left Parliament (v. dépêche n°06601). But employers, who are mostly against this new legislation, lobbied the new center-right government in order to have the law postponed (see our article n°06962).
